What is Urology?
Urology is the medical and surgical specialty that focuses on the urinary tracts of males and females, and the reproductive system of males. Medical professionals specializing in the field of urology are called urologists and are trained to diagnose, treat and manage patients with urological disorders. The organs covered by urology include the kidneys, adrenal glands, ureters, urinary bladder, urethra and the male reproductive organs (testes, epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate and penis). Urology is one of the most competitive postgraduate training programs to enter for physicians.

Common Urologic Problems
Some common problems we deal with at Southwest Urologic Specialists are bladder and prostate difficulties, urinary incontinence, urinary tract infections, female urology, kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, adrenal glands, urethra, testes, vas deferens, seminal vesicles and infertility. We are proud to acknowledge that our team at Southwest Urologic Specialists has two of the most experienced physicians in Arizona in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the prostate, bladder, and kidney, as well as rare urologic malignancies.
